 * History of Anagol and its conqueror Usman Ghazi and

 Turgat Bay 2

(Translated from the official Inegöl City & Inegöl Chamber of Commerce and Industry web pages and some available translations of early history are also available)

If you wish, you can skip the ancient history sections of önegöl and go straight to the early Ottoman history [which is being shown in #Corolish_Uthman Season 3]

بارے About the name of Enagol

In Byzantine times نامnegöl was called Angelacoma.  However, no source has yet been found to substantiate these claims that the name İnegöl Angelacoma has a distorted pronunciation.

In the sources, it is seen that the name negöl was written in different forms.  However, it is known that in most Ottoman sources it was written as Anna Gol or Ani Gol

Evliya Eelebi tells in her travel book

Derived from İnegöl Ezinegöl.  He states that İnegöl took the name "Ezinegöl" because it was conquered on Friday, Ezine Day according to the language of those days, and removed part of the "Ez" at the beginning over time.  Gone and it was just said.  Negöl

 Archaeological Survey

According to the results of archeological surveys conducted in 1847 and 1942, the date of önegöl is 3000 BC.  There are 6 mounds of archeological interest in önegöl, Cumatepe, İnegöl 2, Şıbalı, Boğazköy Palangatepe and Kurşunlu .....

Today, the mound around the municipal headquarters in the center of the city is called Cumatepe.

Excavations by the Bursa Archaeological Museum on the Cumatepe mound in the center of the city in 1999 uncovered mixed antiquities from the late Ottoman period to the Cholcolithic period.

 ول Angol in ancient times

İnegöl has been frequently attacked since ancient times due to its strategic location on military and trade routes.

It is estimated that the Phrygians, Lydians, Persians and Macedonians ruled over Anna Gol, dating back 5,000 years.  In 74 AD, it came under the control of the Roman Empire.

And after the division of the Roman Empire in 395 AD, Enagol came under the rule of the Eastern Roman Empire (Byzantine).  Until the establishment of the Ottoman Empire through Osman Ghazi, it remained under the Byzantine government as a technological center.

قیام Establishment of the Ottoman Empire and the conquest of Anna Gol

Usman Bay, who became the head of the tribe after the death of his father Ertugrul Bay in 1280/81, began his conquests against Byzantium immediately afterwards and later established the Ottoman Empire in 1299.

The official webpage of the Anagol Chamber of Commerce and Industry also states that Usman Bay initially pursued a policy of pleasant, good work, and maintaining relations with the feudal landlords in Bursa, Belgium and the surrounding area, except for Nicola.

In 1284/85, Usman Ghazi's Armenian war with Aya Nicola took place and in that war, Usman and his men had to retreat after the martyrdom of their brother Sauchi Bay's son, Bioja, as shown in Season 2.

  Was

Bioja was the first martyr of Usman's family and his grave is in Hamzabey district of İnegöl.

Despite the setback (and Bayhoca's martyrdom), Ottoman history began with this first military operation.

The foundations of a state that would rule for six centuries were soon laid in the square of Söğüt, Bilecik, Domaniç and İnegöl.

Shortly afterwards, #Uthman_Bem raided Kalaka Castle near Enagle and conquered the fort.  The year of this conquest is recorded in the history of Aşıkpaşazade as Hijri, 684, Gregorian, 1285, and it is said that this conquest was the first conquest of Usman Ghazi.

[It is also mentioned in some of the earliest histories which were deeply affected by the martyrdom of Bioja.  Continued  Many friends of the landlord of Castle Angelacoma thus vanished from history]

Concerned neo-hippies and their global warming, i'll tell ya.

Usman Bay, aware of this alliance, handed over the victory of Enagol to his ally, Turgut Alp.

[In many early sources, Turgut Alp is referred to as Usman Bay's dear friend and comrade - which makes it fair to assume that, in terms of age, he was 'probably' a contemporary of Usman Bay.  This is a broader understanding and that is why in the series based on Usman Bay, he is portrayed as a contemporary and friend of Usman Bay but in some places it is also found that he was of Ertugrul period but of some tribe.  Sardar was then going on to become a loyal friend of Usman Ghazi]

 With the siege plan implemented by the Turgut Alps, Enagle was finally conquered in 1299 and the Ottoman Empire was formed in the same year;

[According to early Ottoman sources, Turgut Alp was also with Usman Bay during the conquest of Yarisar and was later given the responsibility with the conquest of Enagol.  It is also mentioned in these sources that Turgat Alp first laid siege to the city and then Usman Bay came to the fort to help him.  It was also mentioned that during the conquest of Enagol, Nicfula, the Texfor of the city of Enagol, was assassinated, and after that Usman Bay handed over the management of Enagol and the surrounding villages to Turgut Alp.

The region where: Inegol's Kirles (Paşaören),

Süle, Genci (Turgutalp Village), Gelene (Kayapınar) and Kıran

The neighborhoods are called Turguteli-Turgutlar District

Turgut Alp, who along with Sultan Orhan played a key role in the conquest of Bursa, died in the village of Gansi (now Turgut Alp Koye Mahalsi), where he had settled in his later years.

His tomb is on a large hill overlooking the negöl in Turgut Alpkoi Mahlisi, and a memorial service is held around the shrine every year on Hıdrellez's day.

The naming of a neighborhood, a village, an Anatolian high school and a mosque in Enagol after Turgut Alp is an indication of the place that this highly successful early Ottoman commander has collectively remembered for generations to come.
